I spoke to someone recently who wants to buy land, purchase equipment and harness the power of the sun in large quantitites.  They’re trying to go green in as many ways as possible and are thinking this would be a step to take toward everyone using a renewable form of energy.  There are solar grants out there for individuals, families and businesses; there must be help out there for someone taking such a big step.  I told them to check with local officials first, where they plan to buy the land, as they’ll be the first to know of resources available to help with the purchasing of the property.

“Hey, does anyone know if there are any government grants to install a solar power array on my property’s 6-Story Apartment Community?”

Check out the State of Michigan’s Energy Office web-site. They have lots of helpful information on the page, including where you might find a solar grant for just this purpose. Click on wind/solar power on the left hand column. Check out the Michigan Renewable Energy Exchange, and then the publications for financial help for homeowners/business owners. It looks like they only have grants for Solar Energy Demonstrations, to show how solar energy works.

The second web-site is for the Federal Incentives that give you tax credit for installing solar energy. They give you up to $2000 for an Incentive.

So check out the links and Good Luck!

Our old neighbors have moved to New Zaeland and are hoping to use government solar grants to install solar panels.  They said they’ve read there is a government grant of $1000 available for anyone planning to undertake this task.

But what will the entire job cost them, does anyone know?

It would be for a three-bedroom house, single story, on a hill.

I’d love to see comments on this if anyone has any thoughts!!

California is one of the pioneer states in providing solar grants to people, families, and businesses hoping to install solar panels and other energy saving devices in their homes.  With the new administration, there will hopefully be lots of these types of reforms all over the country.  Check into your local governments, then your state governments, when looking to install any type of green device!

If you live anywhere in the US, there are government solar grants available to help install solar panels and other energy saving devices.  Government incentives and tax breaks also exist.  Check locally first if you want to make your house a little more environmentally friendly.  Also, the US Department of Energy has lots of tips and might be able to point you in the right direction to get grants and other free government money.
