Installation of energy efficient solar panels and other green devices is not just for businesses any more! Even though the the cost of changing your home’s energy sources can be expensive, you can end up saving a lot of money in the long run. The Federal government is giving away money in the form of solar grants and other kinds of grants to people who want to get their homes ‘green’ and now is the time to check into these resources!
My 17 year old nephew is studying music with a view to taking a degree. He has searched on the internet to see if there are any grants or help available, but all he can find is help for classical music students. My nephew is studying contemporary music and specializes in rock music. He wants to be a session musician and also teach. He plays lead, bass guitar and also keyboards.
There is federal grant money in the form of music grants or other art grants to help students who are interested in furthering their education this way, especially if they want to teach down the road.
Traditionally, solar grants and other types of grants are usually reserved for non-profit organizations, but with the energy crisis as of late, more government agencies are providing grant money to businesses trying to reduce their carbon footprint. If you own a company that’s trying to be greener, check into all the resources availalbe to you, as new grants and low interest loans are popping up all over the place!
“I am a senior in high school and am planning on my major being vocal performance. Are there any grants or scholarships for music students in North Carolina that I could apply for?”
Using Federal grant money in the form of a music grant or education grant is an excellent way to further your education. For students interested in getting into the arts there are even more scholarships and grants available. Begin by filling out a FAFSA form to see what kind of aid you qualify for. Good luck!
I spoke to someone recently who wants to buy land, purchase equipment and harness the power of the sun in large quantitites. They’re trying to go green in as many ways as possible and are thinking this would be a step to take toward everyone using a renewable form of energy. There are solar grants out there for individuals, families and businesses; there must be help out there for someone taking such a big step. I told them to check with local officials first, where they plan to buy the land, as they’ll be the first to know of resources available to help with the purchasing of the property.
Thought I would repost this question I read the other day about getting a grant for education:
“Has anyone received a grant through NPC. I was called by NPC National Process(ing) Center and they guarantee me an education grant for my studies. They promise to seek out all that is available to me and charge a fee for there services. They are in Norfolk VA and seem to be legit. If anyone has received a grant from them, or dealt with them, I would love to hear about it. ”
Post your responses as comments!
“Hey, does anyone know if there are any government grants to install a solar power array on my property’s 6-Story Apartment Community?”
Check out the State of Michigan’s Energy Office web-site. They have lots of helpful information on the page, including where you might find a solar grant for just this purpose. Click on wind/solar power on the left hand column. Check out the Michigan Renewable Energy Exchange, and then the publications for financial help for homeowners/business owners. It looks like they only have grants for Solar Energy Demonstrations, to show how solar energy works.
The second web-site is for the Federal Incentives that give you tax credit for installing solar energy. They give you up to $2000 for an Incentive.
So check out the links and Good Luck!
Someone recently sent me this email:
‘My husband’s job is relocating us to the Medford/Ashland/Grant’s Pass area sometime next year. We are currently in Texas. I can’t wait to go; I was born there and spent a large chunk of my childhood in the Portland area. I am very excited. I’ve searched on the internet for houses, farms, etc., and all i get back are the multimillion dollar homes. We want something very simple, very remote and very cheap. What we really want is a farm house in a piece of land we can farm. Is there any chance of getting a grant to help pay for the land if we plan on farming it, because we’re moving due to a job relocation?’
It can never hurt to look into Government grants. This couple plans on farming the land and is moving because of employment. There are several different ways they might qualify for grant money to help them begin their new life!
Making your house more energy efficient can pay off big time in the long run, but doing the actual converting can be expensive. Local governments and the Federal government are doing their part to encourage people to use renewable energy and are offering solar grants, tax breaks and all sorts of incentives to people willing to do the work themselves and make their homes ‘greener.’
I spoke to a woman recently who is hoping to get her son into a good pre-school but can’t afford it. He doesn’t qualify for the free Head Start programs and is hoping to get some kind of grant money to help pay for his admission.
Speaking to the director of the pre-school program is probably the best way to start. They will know about any resources available to parents who can’t quite meet the financial burden.
